OPTI Medical Leadership Team
OPTI Medical is a subsidiary of IDEXX Laboratories. The OPTI Leadership Team is responsible for developing and executing the human diagnostics strategy, as well as the daily affairs of the Roswell, Georgia site.
Corporate Vice President
Mr. te Boekhorst has been Corporate Vice President of IDEXX since March 2015, and oversees the Company’s Livestock, Poultry and Dairy lines of business, the OPTI Medical human diagnostics business, as well as the Company’s Latin America operations. He was Vice President and General Manager of the Livestock and Poultry Diagnostics business from June 2011 until February 2015 and integrated the Dairy segment into that group in 2012. From 2008 to 2011, Mr. te Boekhorst was the Senior Director and General Manager of Livestock and Poultry Diagnostics. Mr. te Boekhorst joined the Company’s strategy and business development group in 2004. He led the Company’s strategic planning and business development activities from 2005 to 2008 as the Director and later as Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. te Boekhorst was with The Boston Consulting Group from 1997 to 2004, where he focused on advising technology industries, and mergers and acquisition work. Mr. te Boekhorst holds a bachelor’s degree in political studies from Bard College, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University’s Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Sr. Director and General Manager
Mr. Sztukowski is Senior Director and General Manager of OPTI Medical, and is also responsible for the Company’s North American Livestock, Poultry and Dairy business. He was Director of the US Companion Animal Distribution business from 2010 through 2015. Mr. Sztukowski joined IDEXX in 2005 as the Director of Sales for the Western United States, responsible for all lines of business within the Companion Animal Group. Prior to joining the Company, he was with the human diagnostics division of Abbott Laboratories, from 1987 through 2004, where he held various commercial leadership positions in the United States. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MBA from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.
Commercial Business Manager
Mr. Briggs joined IDEXX in May 2016 and oversees OPTI Medical’s worldwide commercial sales channels and global marketing initiatives. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Briggs was Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Innovation from 2013 to 2016 at FHC, Inc., a Maine-based human-use medical device manufacturer providing surgical devices and surgical planning software for functional neurosurgeons globally. At FHC he focused on expanding the company’s global sales presence, implementing sales processes, optimizing global sales strategy, guiding product innovation, and activating an enhanced customer contact system. Mr. Briggs also held senior sales leadership and marketing positions at The Coca Cola Company as Group Manager Operational Marketing, and at Cox Enterprise as Northeast Region Manager for its Web-based and print automotive portals. Mr. Briggs has extensive experience in global sales, marketing, and finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Orono and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Business.
Vice President, Operations
Mr. Hart has worked for IDEXX Laboratories since 2008, where he initially served as Worldwide Operations Controller, and most recently as Vice President of Operations. Mr. Hart is committed to providing world-class product quality and reliability to enhance the OPTI Medical customer experience. His responsibilities include instrument manufacturing and service, cassette and slide consumable production, technical support, and supply chain. Prior to joining IDEXX Laboratories, Mr. Hart worked for National Semiconductor and IBM. He received a bachelor’s in economics from Bowdoin College and an MBA from New York University.
Vice President, Research & Development
Dr. Travers has been Vice President of R&D of OPTI Medical Systems since December of 2011. Dr. Travers joined IDEXX in 2007 as the Director of Systems Development. He was responsible for managing the OPTI R&D Systems group which develops new sensor technologies for both the human and veterinary markets. Prior to joining OPTI, Dr. Travers was the Chief Scientist for Osmetech’s e-nose technology and spent many years developing conducting polymer gas sensors for healthcare applications. After Osmetech acquired the OPTI business from Roche Diagnostics, he joined the OPTI R&D group working on the fluorescent sensor technology. Dr. Travers and his teams were responsible for the development of the OPTI R and OPTI LION platforms. Dr. Travers graduated from Cambridge University in 1984 and gained his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 1990 from the University of Manchester.
Director, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control
Mr. Gober has been Director, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control since September 2015. Mr. Gober is responsible for OPTI Medical’s FDA and international regulatory compliance, quality assurance and systems, continuous improvement, and safety and environmental compliance. Prior to joining OPTI Medical, Mr. Gober served as the Director of Quality/Regulatory for EndoChoice, Inc. There he was focused on developing and implementing quality systems in support of the company’s growth strategy. Prior to that, Mr. Gober held the position of Quality/Regulatory Manager for Dornier MedTech America, Inc. where he led two FDA inspections, improved the CAPA management system, and led registration and listing activities in the US & Germany. Mr. Gober has extensive experience in Quality and Regulatory and brings a wealth of knowledge to OPTI Medical. Mr. Gober received a BS in Biology from Union College in Barbourville, KY.
