Principles of Operation
|
|
|
The OPTI® R analyzer is a microprocessor-based instrument that measures optical fluorescence from discreet sensors called optical electrodes (optodes).
A disposable, multi-use cassette contains all of the elements needed for sample measurement. The OPTI® R utilizes a disposable fluid pack that contains all fluids needed for automatic calibrations, quality control and waste containment. |
OPTI R Cassette Features:
- Room temperature storage eliminates time consuming equilibration and logistic issues
- 50 samples per cassette over 7 days reduces testing costs
- Launch Parameters: pH, PO2, PCO2, tHb, SO2, Na, K, iCa
- Sensor cassette is designed with the time tested OPTI® methodology of using optical fluorescence and reflectance to determine analyte concentration
- Always ready allows for rapid results in STAT situations
- QC included – QC samples do not count as a patient sample
- No electrodes provides maintenance-free operation

The OPTI® R analyzer utilizes a disposable fluid pack that contains all fluids needed to perform automatic calibrations and quality control without user intervention. The fluid pack also contains the waste pouch for easy disposal. |
Fluid Pack Features:
- Room temperature storage eliminates time consuming equilibration and logistic issues
- 3 QC solutions independent from calibrators stored in the fluid pack
- OQM for monitoring of the complete system status
- Integrated transponder:
-
sends all pack calibration and QC information to the instrument
- Stores pack usage information
- prevents other manufacturers from reproducing the pack
-
No scanning of barcodes or entering information
